Big on Review...just not big on writing reviews (Nokia E90)

My first attempt at writing a review on the "Brick" I am using. Purely from a consumer perspective. Dun expect me to go too technical. And please forgive my Typo or grammatical errors.

Its not just any "brick", its the new Nokia communicator thats almost an all in one device.

I think its been more than 10 years since the 1st "Brick" came into the market.

Besides the Indonesians, not many would want to be caught using the Communicator. As expensive it may have been,
it just wasn't cool back then when the trend for mobile phones were "smaller the better".

With the launch of the Nokia E90 this year, things have changed. Stocks were flying off the shelves, both in Nokia shops and grey market dealers.

Why the sudden change?

Well, the Nokia e90 is truely a very capable communicator. It still looks and feels like a "brick", but the inside has changed.

Appearance and Build quality

Its much nicer and the build quality is goodcompared to the 9500 or 9300. Mine (above) is Gmasked to "protect" my investment.
The original colors Mocca and red is nice.

Some owners have experience some issues with the back panel not being "fitted" properly. If u press the back panel just above the camera lens, you will find out if u r one of the lucky or unluck owners. If u r lucky, the back panel is solid. If not, the panel will "spring" in and out when u press on it and making a slight pop sound.

How does it fit in my pocket?
Its actually quite pocketable. But not tight jeans for now.
And definitely no baggy pants as it will most definitely settle in a horizontal position in your pocket.
Dun think you want the ladies to think that you have a weird looking piece of equipment under ur pants...hehe

The screen
Fantastic!!! Downloaded a trailer made for the internal screen and it played perfectly.
Screen is sharp and crisp.
Outside screen size has improved and is made to be more usuable as compared to 9300.
So users have issues with the internal qwerty pad touching the screen.
Just go put a screen protector and everything is solved.

QWERTY pad
Its very usable. COming from a Nokia e61i, it took me a day or 2 to get use to the new keyboard layout.
I use the thumb method. Laying the e90 on the table and try typing normal is not so practical for me.

User Interface
I have been switching between windows mobile and symbian for quite afew years.
For now, i am sticking to symbian. The e61i convinced me of that it is a better choice.
Everything is so easy to set up. from wifi to shortcuts. No touch screen, no problem for me.

Speed of e90
Fast enuf!
Subjective and I dun have speed test comparison.

4gb micro sdhc card
This is what I got off the bay and works perfectly with my e90. Cost me US$70 including shipping

Its a Sandisk by the way. Can't find locally yet

Conclusion
I am loving it.
A bit on the heavy side in the beginning, Got used to it now.
That all from me for now.
:)
